Storm

Sunday, Sept 14, was ushered in with high winds. This is a view from our front porch. We had a couple of trees fall on some new fencing in the pasture, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. My brother and his boys came to help remove the trees from the fences. I sure appreciated the help! There are several trees in the pasture that have been uprooted as well. I am afraid of cutting down large trees, so the Good Lord helped me out. Once I get all the trees cut up, Mom will have plenty of firewood for the winter. Granddad had his largest pecan tree uprooted and it landed on two more pecan trees. I have been spending time over there cutting up his trees as well. Colton loves playing in Granddad's back yard. He loves to investigate the contents of the barn as well as trying to convince my Granddad's very elderly dog that he wants to be chased by a very active little boy. Granddad is such a gentle spirit, so Colton usually has run of the show when he is there. I am sure Granddad would find many things more interesting than hunting for worms, etc. Whenever Granddad is using a tool, Colton usually confiscates it and Granddad goes about finding something else to work with. Talk about patient! This man made it through my siblings and I and to this day we have NEVER seen him upset. God smiles sweetly upon Granddad.
